The Model M was introduced by Steinway in 1911. Because of its 5′ 7″ size and powerful voice typically heard from larger pianos it gained its a/k/a as the “Studio Grand” for the home, teaching studio, chamber music recitals, and other intimate spaces. The Model M is known for its broad horizon of tone with a quick responsive action in a slightly smaller size.
